SAVE A SENIOR PROGRAM
We at Safehaven Foster are instituting a new program that we need your help with. As many of you know we are currently housing many senior dogs, they are considered unadoptable due to age or medical problems or a combination of both. We never euthanize a dog due to age or managable health problems however these senior are taking up much of our rescue resourses for their care and feeding. We would like everyone to consider sponsoring a senior. For a small donation monthly you can help us make their last years safe and comfortable.
For information please call or e mail us here at Safehaven.

In addition she has found that special forever home as soon as she has healed from the surgery . Special thanks to Dr. Sam Doverspike of Franklin Animal Clinic who worked so hard to fix our babies twisted legs and give her a normal life.

Who We Are
Safehaven is a foster home for Pekingese Charitable foundation and others. Our goal is to provide a safe, loving home environment for abandoned, abused and neglected small breed dogs, and help them adjust to life with a family. These little ones are not kept in kennel runs like at a humane shelter but rather in a home environment. We are NO-KILL. No dog is ever euthanised to make room for another. During their stay with us, they are heartworm tested, vaccinated, spayed/neutred, and any medical issues are addressed. They are also taught acceptable household behaviors. Ultimately helping them find the best possible forever home.
About PCF Inc. - Founded by the Pekingese Club of America, the organizations goals are to foster health research on topics relevant to the pekingese breed, and to provide rescue services for homeless pekingese dogs throughout the US. The workings of the foundation are overseen by a Board of Directors and by two Advisory Committees made up of dedicated pekingese owners whose responsibility is to work towards the overall goals of the foundation. PCF raises funds for much-needed health research, as well as funds to combat the enormous problem of homelessness among the pekingese breed. Through its work, PCF hopes that no Pekingese dog will be left uncared for in a shelter or on the streets, and intend to make a positive impact on the health of our beloved breed. PCF is a non-profit charitable corporation with 501c3 status.

Adopting a friend
1. Adoption application must be filled out and approved prior to visit or placement..
2. Verifiable Veterinary Refferences are required. Many of our adoptees have come from puppy mills or have been neglected by their previous owners, without much veterinary care. We refuse to let this happen to them again!
3. We require at least one visit with the dog, prior to placement. This is to let the dog and new owner get aquainted in an enviroment that is comfortable for the dog.
4. We DO NOT ship or deliver. The adopted dog must be picked up at the foster home. This gives us an opportunity to discuss small details like allergies etc. with the new owners.
We do not have a set fee for all dogs. We ask for a donation to help defray the veterinary bills, shelter fees, etc.
